April has just started, but we are busy getting ready to go. The whole class will be going to the Tiger Game as a thank you for doing our AAA Safety Jobs this year! Go Tigers and Go Pirates! Even if the cold lasts, we can't wait! Then next month most of the class will be going on the class trip to Mammoth Caves! Spring fever and the excitement of getting out and doing things is in the air!

March has been amazing and challenging all at the same time. We started practicing for our living Stations in the classroom before moving to the church. Once we had an idea of who was doing what during each station, we practiced in the church. Except for a few problems (like almost dropping Jesus on the way to the grave), we are all set! Everyone is nervous, but they know what they are doing and look wonderful doing it. While we prepared we also found time to go to confession, celebrated St. Patrick's Day, finished the third quarter, and worked on our Lenten commitments. There is still time to do something if you haven't yet.

February has been a full month! We started in the middle of Catholic School's Week. We had a great time! Then we went to the Academic Olympics competition where our school took third place! The next week was the Math Counts competition. The students didn't win a prize, but our math teacher took second place among all the other math teachers! Way to go, Mrs. Berkholz! Then we had a cell feast with our edible cells before Valentine's Day and the start of Lent. Some pictures of our masterpieces are below. For Lent we buried the Alleluia, made our commitments to God as we received our ashes, took part in Adoration in the church and the all school Stations of the Cross. Then we learned that we would be performing a living Stations of the Cross at the end of Lent! So far we have picked our roles and found our costumes and props. Wish us luck!

January brought cold weather and the end of the second quarter. The students had three midterm exams to prepare for and take. Then we moved into our preparations for Catholic Schools Week. The students have so many ideas they have shared with the student council including wearing pajamas and having a drop everything and read day, coming dressed as their favorite character, drop everything and dance moments during our crazy dress day, and the 8th grade versus the staff volleyball game. Who do you think will win?
