In October we started learning about living things. We learned their characteristics, their needs, and the elements found in all living organisms. The class also tested food items for the presence of starch and fat. Then we started learning about the parts of a microscope and how to care for one. The students shared their knowledge of microscope care by making a poster, writing a story, or writing and performing a rap song. These projects are hanging across the hall from the science lab for anyone who would like to see them.
October also meant our first field trip. Most of the class went to Pioneer Day at Gabriel Richard High School to get an idea of what going there would be like. We will have an opportunity to hear from a group of representatives from St. Francis Cabrini High School on Thursday.
Meanwhile we have students who have been preparing for the School Spelling Bee and Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee. Both are today! Good luck everyone!
Halloween is coming fast. Several of the seventh grade students attended the Student Council Haunted House and the Trunk-or-Treat event at the school yesterday. We will all have a class celebration on Friday. Do you have your costume picked out yet? I do.
